Five Outdoor Essentials You Need To Buy
Are you planning the next family outing? Or inviting some friends over for some barbecue as a brunch or lunch? The most important thing is to be ready or else you might not be able to push through with the lunch in the first place. Here are a few items you might want to invest in to make that neighborly barbecue party one to remember.
• A grill – Yes it may be easy to have a pit made for the fire that you are going to use to cook meat and what not, but it's useless if you don't have a proper sized-grill. You don't have to invest too much money on an outdoor grill. You just have to build a place for the fire and it's the actual grill that you need to purchase. If you are planning to cook for more than 10 people, then you need a large barbecue grill. It is also important to know what kind of surface you would like to use to cook your meats. For example, if you want to cook patties, you may want a flat surface rather than ridged one which is best for steaks and fish. Whatever you are cooking, just make sure your grill has enough space on it for everyone. This will reduce cooking time and you will get to the eats much faster.
• Grill accessories – Of course, if you have a grill, then you will need all the accessories that come with it. Not all grills come with all the essentials like tongs and cleaners. Set aside a little money to buy these items and other pieces of hardware. Other accessories may include holders for any coal that you will be using, special pans for all sorts of food you will be preparing, wood chips, gas, and even liquids that help douse the flames.
• Grill covers – Once you are done cooking, and you have finally cleaned up the grill, you don't want it to be damaged by the elements such as the rain or scorching sun. This is a good time to use a grill cover. After all, you won't always be using the grill for your cooking needs. Grill covers are available in leather, hard plastics or plastic sheets. Just make sure that you invest in covers that can be easily stored when they are not in use.
• Coal buckets – If you have sacks of coal in the garage specifically for grilling, it's best to remove them from their sacks and store them in metal buckets. This will help keep moisture away from the coal that you buy and it's also a more organized way to store coal than if they came in messy sacks.
• Utensils – Whether its clamps, skimmers, tongs, or metal spatulas, it's important that you have something to fiddle around with the food as it cooks. Otherwise, you will end up with not only burnt food, but a mess of a grill that will take forever to clean up. Also remember to invest in cleaning brushes and detergents to clean up the metal parts of a grill to keep it from rusting in the long run.
